We firmly believe sustainability should be a significant consideration for consumers out there, because:
The environment needs change
Worldwide fast fashion is having a devastating impact on the environment, contributing to water, air and soil pollution, while also draining natural resources. Due to the copious amount of water it takes to produce clothes and the extortionate amount of textile waste that exists, we make our items with high quality material that is made to last, meaning they can be worn time and time again, aligning with our environmentally conscious brand ethics. You won’t find Diva costumes falling apart after the first use, that’s for sure!
Human life can be put at risk
For those who are not already aware, it can come as a shock to hear that there have been actual lives lost as a result of the fast fashion industry. An example of this type of tragedy is the Rana Plaza collapse in Bangladesh, which had harrowing consequences to human life, which is why we have direct contact with the factory where our dancewear is made. Our consumers can be can rest assured the workers behind their costumes are not at risk.
Gained value for the consumer
As previously mentioned, fast fashion practically entirely dominates the consumer world, with the majority of people opting for short lasting, disposable items. The result of these decisions means the clothing items only has a short life before they have to be thrown away and replaced, which isn’t environmentally or economically friendly! The higher quality an item, the longer it lasts and the more occasions it can be used for and dance costumes are definitely an item that should be prioritised in this area. Here at Diva, our costumes are made to a high standard that means they can withstand the trials and tribulations of the dancefloor and can be used time and time again.
